Quintessentially Foundation Charity Poker Night

Last night saw stars including Tom Parker Bowles, Jamie Laing, Ben Elliot & Zac Goldsmith support the Quintessentially Foundation’s annual poker evening held in the beautifully restored Lancaster Ballroom at The Savoy Hotel in association with PokerStars. The aim of the evening was to raise much needed funds for three worthy causes: Greenhouse, Place2be and RightToPlay. We are delighted to announce that over £195,000 was raised from last night’s event, adding to the £4 million which has already been raised by the Foundation since 2008.

Following a lavish champagne reception, the evening saw glamorous VIPs, movers & shakers and business luminaries take their seats alongside poker professionals and enthusiasts in a ‘Texas Hold’em’ poker tournament. At stake were 10 amazing prizes including a trip to the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo Casino (R) European Poker Tour event and a Box for Arsenal vs Newcastle United in addition to a Pre-release Private Screening of a Working Title Film for 35 people.

Highlights of the evening included Jamie Laing repeatedly beating the poker pro at his table and winning all her chips forcing her to buy-in again to stay in the game!

The eclectic mix of characters clearly enjoyed themselves and the poker evening continued long into the night, with guests knocked out of the competition making the most of the cocktails & canapés on offer throughout the evening.

Music Cube at Westfield was an amazing event and is set to change the way we all experience live music. Bands and music artists performing live in a clear soundproof glass cube with LED lights, sub woofers built into the flooring so you not only can see, hear but feel the performance. Listening to this via state of the art Sennheiser headphones! Now we where invited and you can experience this thought the medium I know best!….Pictures!

Then it was time for Processor Green to take to the stage and the entire place silently erupted. The oddest part of the evening was as soon as you took off the headphones it felt like an ordinary shopping centre. People gassed down on all these loonies dancing about with not a single note to be heard! Utterly brilliant and we loved every minute!!!

Feathers 40th Birthday Bash

We spent a wonderful night celebrating with a charming family and drank some seriously exceptional cocktails. We chatted away to all 3 generations about life, family, pets and the passion of the clothing industry. To say I was in my element would be an understatement.

The event was supported by D1 London Gin with the distinctive blue skull artwork created by Jacky Tsai who you all will instantly recognise his designs when I say “Alexander McQween” He was the intern that created the highly sought after fashion accessory that to this day is still coveted.

He is a passionate artist that’s so humble you just gravitate to him. We talked about all his up and coming creations, what inspires him, design, life and his culture. But mostly our love of fabrics, pattern cutting and all the fashion geeky stuff that makes me giddy. I’m really looking forward to seeing his new collection soon and letting you all know more about him.

The reason we where there was to celebrate with Feathers for its 40th birthday. Feathers is a beautiful family run business that first opened it’s doors way back in 1969. The Burstein’s gave the original boutique labels like Biba, Ossie Clark and many more. Now the stunning well established shop has a huge following and an even bigger reputation.

Edward Aydin from Fashion Broadcasting Corporation Styleisfashion.com

Style and fashion is what I live, breath and sleep for. I’m the kind of girl that goes to bed at night dreaming about all aspects of style, from shooting beauty, helping clients feel and look good to searching for one off outfits I or they will love for years to come.

My idea of a perfect day is browsing in a calm little boutique that I know will always be able to help me find the perfect outfit for my client or myself! Being able to find stunning items that will work on photo shoots or just to browse amongst the delightful clothes and mentally style an outfit from top to bottom I’m my head.
Feathers ticks all the boxes for me and even you are not close to the Knightsbridge store they have an online boutique that’s amazingly user friendly. The company are constantly looking for new and exciting designers to add to the store and website. Keeping it up to date for each and every season. There is something for everyone and quality is guaranteed.

We have decided to go back very soon and feature the store for an article. They where packed to the rafters last night and it was one of the best fashion gorges we have had in a very long time. We filled up on perfectly made cocktails featuring the totally mind blowing infused gin created by D.J. Limbrey and glorious style.

The shop is situated right next to Harrods so you can’t miss it. It’s well worth a visit and even if you can’t make a trip there you have to follow this wonderful families boutique on twitter! If you are near by then pop along, say hello and wander about this beautiful store. If you have ever heard of them then you will thank me so much for introducing it to you! Now get those heels on and hightail yourself off for a gastronomic fashion feast!

Now if you have spotted yourself and want a lovely little link to your website to Twitter page, please don’t hesitate in contacting me @SarahBacchus and l will give you a mention with links. Both myself and my photographer husband Ian Bacchus had a great evening and came home with so many cards we lost track!!

Bubba Gump Comes To London

We where invited to the first UK’s first Bubba Gump restaurant last night and we have to say it was oh so very good! The staff where totally brilliant, very helpful and extremely attentive.

The American novelty fast food chain is best known for taking its inspiration from Forrest Gump and has over 30 restaurants around the world. They have a memorabilia shop on the ground floor for all the kids among us! Get ready for a rather picture packed article as we really needed to do this place justice. Here we go….Are you guys ready for possibly the best new dining experience to hit London in a very long time.

This quirky themed restaurant has shrimp as the main part of the menu with over 20 different styles to be precise. They do offer fish, steak, chicken, ribs, salads as alternatives for those of you that don’t really like a good old prawn. We indulged in so many different dishes and all had perfect and delectable flavours.

The menu consists of Coconut Shrimp, I’m not normally a huge fan of coconut but by golly was it good. They do Lobster Linguine, Dixie Style Baby Back Ribs. The most mouthwatering chicken that you will ever have. You will never want any other chicken dish anywhere else! No really it’s seriously so good and knocks spots off anywhere we have been in a long time.

The 10 Minute Lunch

ten min lunch
Here is the quickest healthiest lunch you could possibly make! Faster than nipping off to the shops to buy a nasty sandwich and tastier than you can possibly imagine!

P1140363 lunch

All you need is the following

lunch

  • 1 Chicken breast per person
  • 1 lemon 1/2 sweezed
  • chunk of ginger, grated
  • big dollop of mustard
  • 2 tbs tomato paste
  • 2 tbs maple syrup

Put a griddle pan on the heat while you quickly prepare the sauce. Mix the marinade ingredients together and cut the chicken down the middle so you have 2 flat slices, place the chicken in a bowl, pour over the sauce.

P1140345 lunch

Hear it sing as it hits the heat! P1140350

lunch P1140354

Slice the chicken into smaller sections after about 4 minuets so it cooks through evenly and gets all the delicious charred, sticky and delicious sauce soaked right through. I don’t know about you but I love the crispy baked on edges of pies. The ones you just have to dig at at the end of the meal. Its the best bit like the skins on jacket potatoes. Now cook this for a while longer around 5 mins and serve on a bed of crisp lettuce. Or you can pop it on steamed rice for a quick supper.

P1140357

Serve with a glass of fizzy water and the juice of the other half of the lemon, tantalising and tangy, just like the dish!

lunch P1140363 P1140362

Don’t you just want some for lunch!!

IMG_1787IMG_1799Having some fun at the even! Its not all work and no play at Frost. Work hard play hard, haven’t you heard our motto!!IMG_1802Dixons Travel is my kinda place. This new Leica camera is on my ultimate wish list. All hand made and a photographers dreamy dream. I did joke and pretend the pinch it but with a price tag of around £4000 I decided it wouldn’t be a good idea if they ever wanted me for a Photo shoot!! Now on the other hand these babies below are more in my price range, the latest sound box that connects to your phone wirelessly. The sound that was heard coming from these was tremendous. I need one for photo shoots that are in extreme places without electricity. Just imagine this dinky little number by the pool playing your favourite tunes or sitting sipping a nice glass of red while watching the sun go down, with delightful chill out music in the background. Whats brilliant these are just under £100 too!IMG_1803IMG_1807At the World Duty free bar we got to sample the cocktails and whiskeys. I opted for my all time favourite that is a Virgin Marry. I have to say it was possibly the best one I have ever had. Compliments to the gentleman creating them. The World Duty Free section will be offering whisky tasting, complimentary facials, massages and treatments, all are amazing I can reassure you. IMG_1812IMG_1813Now for the highlight of the day for me and that was the Plaza Premium Lounge. Nothing else would have done it mind you. Caviar House and Prunier offers incredible Balik salmon, caviar, chocolate and champagne. Every one of us at the event was overwhelmed at the flavours. I was instantly taken back to my childhood sitting on my fathers boat, lapping up the sea breeze and the salty air. This caviar not only tasted triumphant but made me feel like I had been whisked off on holiday. IMG_1839IMG_1842IMG_1851The ice bar was amazing, full to the brim with treats.IMG_1852IMG_1853IMG_1866IMG_1876With all this going on at the Terminal would you need anything else, oh yes you could. Personal shopping is the ultimate experience in its self and at Heathrow its all complimentary.
