Amy Childs Launches New Perfume | Beauty Review

I didn’t expect to like Amy Childs Perfume
but I do. It smells absolutely divine. It is one of those perfumes that also smell better the longer you wear it. It is quite fruity and a little bit sweet. Bizarrely, the smell reminded me of a holiday in Switzerland. It has a happy smell that makes me smile.

Encased in an adorable deep purple, multi-faceted bottle embellished with a heart shaped charm, Amy’s perfume is fabulous and feminine.

A fan of all things glamorous and girly, Amy is qualified beauty therapist with her own salon, beauty products and clothing range. She has always loved perfume and smelling lovely. In fact, when she was setting up her salon, Amy chose all the lotions and oils herself as she wanted to ensure that all the fragrances were just perfect.

Teangi Tea Tree | Beauty Review

Teangi Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Cream
to effectively treat and relieve stings, cuts, minor burns, nappy rash and other minor skin conditions.

This cream has been getting a bit of a workout. I have been using it on insect bites, cuts, spots and sunburn. Luckily it has been doing it’s job. The cream has a great consistency and it smells divine, very fresh. It speeds up healing and is antiseptic so it treats cuts and grazes. The blend with witch hazel is a brilliant idea. The two powerful ingredients really work well together. It is also good at soothing skin. This creams many purposes make it a brilliant addition to any household.

Teangi Tea Tree Oil
100% pure pharmaceutical grade Tea Tree oil

This tea tree oil is 100% pure. Tea tree is known as ‘nature’s antiseptic’. Like the cream it has many purposes. You can add it to anything or dilute it and use it on spots or cuts. I used it on an insect bite and it reduced the swelling immensely. I was very impressed. I actually think this tea tree oil is the best you can get. Definitely worth a buy. Both products are well-priced. Bathroom essentials.

Teangi Tea Tree – Nature’s Healing Power for the Bathroom

Tea Tree has long been recognised as a major bathroom essential and the newly renamed Teangi range from LanesHealth is the perfect solution to many irritating conditions.

With the worries of itchy flaky scalps, lice, nappy rash, cuts, and insect bites affecting most parents with young children at some point, the Teangi Tea Tree range is an effective, soothing solution.

The Tea Tree shrub is native to a small region in northern New South Wales Australia and the oil is recognised as a powerful healing ingredient around the world. It has several well-established properties that provide the basis for its special soothing effects: natural antibacterial, natural antiseptic, anti-fungal and insect repellent.

Teangi is an ancient aboriginal name meaning ‘earth’. Aboriginals believed that the association of every living thing is not just an idea but a way of life. LanesHealth have chosen the name Teangi – pronounced Tea-angi – to accentuate the sacred, elemental source of Tea Tree’s healing power.

Today, the Teangi range offers nature’s power for the bathroom. With a range of essential products such as:

– Teangi Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Cream to effectively treat and relieve stings, cuts, minor burns, nappy rash and other minor skin conditions;
– Teangi Tea Tree Oil 100% pure pharmaceutical grade Tea Tree oil;
– Teangi Tea Tree Shampoo a medicated and PH balanced formula, with natural anti-tangling ingredients to make combing easier. Helps keep
the scalp clean and healthy and free from dandruff;
– Tea Tree Conditioner a nourishing leave-in treatment to keep hair perfectly hydrated moisturised and shiny.

So whatever your need, Teangi is a natural, essential collection for the whole family from head to toe.
Jon Groves, Spokesperson for LanesHealth says that, “The new design and brand name bring a contemporary feel to the range, whilst continuing to focus on the beneficial natural healing qualities that tea tree is known for, and which make it the perfect solution for all families.”

Tea Tree Shampoo £3.69
Tea Tree Conditioner £3.15

Frost Beauty Special | The Top Products

I have been lucky enough to have a chance to review some excellent beauty products recently. So here is my beauty low-down.

The people from Trilogy showed me how to make a moisturiser with a syringe, hot water and a waxy substance. After you syringe the hot water in the tube with the waxy substance you use the syringe to create air pressure. A lot of pumping later, ta-da, you have a moisturise. Very fun.

Manuka Doctor Skin Repairing Cream. This cream uses a unique purified form of Bee Venom along with UMF 18+ Manuka Honey. I have been using it and my skin is definitely more radiant. Independent survey’s say it makes a difference to your skin in four weeks. Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham and Danni Minogue are all fans. Made in Chelsea star Mille Mackintosh is their new brand ambassador. Mille had acne in her youth and loves the range as it clears up her skin. They also won ‘Best New Brand’ at the annual beauty awards which are hosted by Cosmetics Executives Women UK.

I love dry shampoo. It is great for volume or those days in-between washes. Klorane’s mini sized Gentle Dry Shampoo Oat Milk is a super handy 50ml can. It’s pretty natural and just pops into your handbag. It’s also only £3.10.

Another travel, and summer, essential is Eau Thermale Spring Water Spray. It’s the same size as the dry shampoo (50ml) and only 5p dearer. It cools and calms the skin. Angelina Jolie is a fan.

Aloe Vera should be in every make-up bag. Celebrity fan Jemma Kidd uses Aloe Vera Gel after being out in the sun to sooth and heal the skin: She says: ‘I religiously put it on when I’ve been in the sun. It’s so soothing and healing. We have hundreds of aloe plants in our garden and when we’re burnt we pick a leaf.’

Miaflora Argan Oil is an excellent moisturiser. It is produced from the kernels of the Argan tree. Kylie Minigue says: “I picked up some argan oil on a recent trip to Morocco…it really does work!” She’s right, it does.

Miaroma Rose Blended Essential Oil is brilliant. You can apply straight to skin or put it in the bath. Rose oil is one of the ingredients of the moment. It does improve skin.

Bio Oil is a classic. Use it for stretch marks and scars. It is a household name now and rightly so.

Another favourite is the Micro Pedi. It is this excellent battery-operated portable device that gives your feet an amazing pedicure. It is available from Boots for £39.95.

Keromask is a new generation of cover-up. You can even use it to cover tattoos and acne. It comes in 24 shades of camouflage cream (£14.99 each) and four finishing powders to achieve the perfect blend. The results are waterproof and heat-resistant. You can buy the Keromask Starter Kit for just £4.99. Go to coverwithconfidence.co.uk for advice on make-up application.

Dehydrated skin can be tight, flaky and sore. If you have lots of very fine lines (as opposed to deep wrinkles), and you’re prone to a dull complexion, then you probably have dehydrated skin. Don’t panic though – this can quickly be brought back to health.

Hydrate skin and achieve that ‘A-list’ complexion with an intensely moisturising honey treatment from Manuka Doctor

Celebrities such as Catherine Zeta Jones and Scarlett Johanssen swear by Manuka Honey facials.

Manuka Honey has the ability to absorb and retain moisture, which supports the natural collagen and elastin structure of skin. With 80% of skin made up of collagen, it’s an ideal natural ingredient to help keep skin hydrated, firm and lifted.

Manuka Doctor’s ApiNourish Rejuvenating Face Mask contains a UMF 18+ Manuka Honey to deeply nourish the skin and help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This deep penetrating skin renewal treatment should be applied to dry clean skin and either left on for 15-30 minutes before washing off or it can be left on overnight for an intensive moisturising treatment. The Rejuvenating Face Mask from Manuka Doctor costs £49.99 and is available from Holland & Barrett stores nationwide or www.hollandandbarrett.com.

I will also be reviewing Viviscal Maximum Strength and Colladeen Visage so watch this space! Around 70,000 women take the Colladeen so I have high hopes.

Sure Maximum Protection Event and Review

On Tuesday I was invited to a Sure Maximum Protection Event at Vanilla. I was also given a sample of the deodorant to try out beforehand. When I arrived I was greeted by lots of lovely people and there were lots of themed cocktails (three flavours. I tried them all!), and games. I won the quotes game by pairing famous women to their quotes and won two tickets to LoveBox in June. Very excited to be seeing Lana Del Ray. It was a great night with brilliant company.

Back to the deodorant: it works. After I received it I went to the gym and my underarms stayed dry. I was very impressed. it really works. It smells great too. There are three super conditioning, maximum protection deodorants available in Confident, Sensitive and Clean Fresh Scent. They use a Trisolid formula which has three components:

* The maximum wetness protection ever from Sure
* Encapsulated odour-fighting technology, and
* Skin moisturising ingredients.

There was a scientist at the event who did a neat little trick, showing how the deodorant stops a glass of water which is covered in a cloth pouring any water out. Very cool.

Sure Maximum Protection is definitely my deodorant of choice now. RRP of £5.09 for 45ml.

MILLIE AND MANUKA DOCTOR

Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh is supporting Manuka Doctor, innovators of the UK’s first ever Purified Bee Venom skincare collection, on their stand at this year’s Vitality Show.

On Saturday 24th March between 10am and 1pm Millie will be offering skincare advice to show visitors in support of her favourite skincare range.

Millie, brand ambassador for Manuka Doctor and a huge fan of natural beauty, suffered with acne in her teens and knows what it feels like to still get the occasional breakout. The heavy make-up required for filming and constant parties and events, means Millie needs something highly effective in cleaning the skin. Being a make-up artist she also understands how hard it is to keep skin looking clear and healthy.

“As a make-up artist I come across so many products and brands – I also get sent a lot of products to try – my absolute favourite at the moment is Manuka Doctor. I really like their ApiClear range. The Foaming Cleanser, Skin Treatment Serum and Moisturising Lotion are all really good for balancing troubled skin.” Millie Mackintosh

Millie’s not alone, since Manuka Doctor’s launch at the end of last year, hero products from the range have completely sold out through Holland & Barrett stores nationwide. Other celebrity bee venom fans include Kate Middleton, Victoria Beckham, Kylie and Dannii Minogue and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Manuka Doctor’s ApiClear range is specifically designed to help balance troubled skin. Purified Bee Venom (PBV™) works alongside New Zealand Manuka Honey, known for its anti-bacterial qualities, and Propolis, to help eliminate the causes of blemishes, nurture cell regeneration and renew damaged skin cells.

A recent trial into the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects of Purified Bee Venom against acne inducing bacteria, conducted by Dr SangMi Han and published in the Journal of Medicinal Plant Research[i] (2010), proved Bee Venom to be an effective alternative treatment for antibiotic therapy for acne. Try the ApiClear Treatment Serum (£18.99 for 30ml) to provide an antiseptic solution for inflamed troubled skin.

Manuka Doctor’s Purified Bee Venom is the result of a unique patented purification process that removes any unwanted particles after it’s been collected from the bees. The venom is extracted using a safe process that ensures that the bee’s lifespan, well being and performance are not affected.

The Manuka Doctor range of Purified Bee Venom products is sold exclusively through Holland & Barrett stores nationwide and online at www.hollandandbarrett.com.

Prices range from £3.49 to £49.99.

Frost's Winter Health Challenge

Winter can be hard on health and beauty. Skin tends to dry out and constant flues and colds are abound.

Frost has tested some health products to help you survive winter as well as possible.

Moa – The Green Balm is a wonder balm that you can use for anything from dry or chapped hands, to bites and bruises, lip salve, blemishes and can mixed with hot water as a sore throat-soothing drink. It smells good and has a good consistency. It works very well as a moisturiser and is a great thing to have around the house. It really is a do-it-all balm, and it is completely natural. I really liked it and I used it as a lip balm and on my hands. (£4.99 from all good health stores or www.thegreenbalm.co.uk)

Eating well in winter can be hard. The temptation to eat stodgy food and hibernate can be strong, and, lack of sun means that you won’t be getting enough Vitamin D. I started taking 5 Lifestream Chorella tablets a day and felt that I had a lot more energy. My skin looks nice and bright and my hair looks good. I go up to 10 a day and I even lose a few pounds. I feel like I’m been given a good health boost. Chlorella is filled with the immune-boosting vitamins and minerals you need to stay healthy. Lifestream Chlorella (£15.29 for 300 tablets from all good health stores or www.grumpygorilla.co.uk). Renowned as nature’s won multivitamin, chlorella is packed with more than 20 vitamins, minerals and amino acids and vitamin D.

Those suffering with seasonal joint pain or arthritis could benefit from a daily dose of apple cider vinegar and honey such as Honegar (£4.69 for 500ml from Holland & Barrett and all good health food stores) mixed with warm or cold water. Ranulph Fiennes is a fan. I start drinking it and although I don’t have arthritis I find I feel more cleansed and have more energy. I also have not had a cold or any flu. It doesn’t taste bad either.

I also try out Plj Lemon Juice. It is nice as a refreshing drink, as an ingredient when cooking or mixed with Manuka honey and warm water to soothe and calm an inflamed throat. It is a good thing to drink if you are trying to detox, not only does it cleanse but it is quite sweet so can take the edge off any cravings.

PLj Lemon Juice (£2.29 from Tesco, Sainsbury’s and all good health food stores)

All of the products I decided to try are natural and as green as possible.

What do you do to help you get through the winter?
