Magnitone BareFaced Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush Review

magnitone barefaced cleansing brush reviewI am going to be honest, since the baby came along I have been a bit lazy with my beauty routine. These days washing my face and brushing my teeth sometimes feels like an achievement. I feel I am holding up relatively well, but boy do I look tired a lot. But bit-by-bit I am slowly putting myself back together. Things have gotten easier now the baby can entertain himself in the cot for a little while, so mummy can put on some BB cream and not scare strangers. I don’t tend to wear a lot of make up. I am all for personal choice but I think wearing loads of make up tends to make one look like a doll. When I was a teenager I wore a lot of make up because I was insecure about how I looked. Of course, now I look back at those pictures and think: you were beautiful you idiot! You will never look like that again! I think also being an actress means I just cannot be bothered fussing around day to day. You tend to get your hair and make up done so much that it gets old. Nowadays some BB cream and lip balm is what I usually wear. Sometimes I will add mascara because although my eyelashes are long, they are brown, not black. Which brings me, finally!, to the matter at hand. The Magnitone BareFaced Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush Review.

I have only used it once so far as I have been so busy, but I will update this post as I go. In the end I hope to be happy with my barefaced glory. The Magnitone firms and tightens your complexion. It is a cleansing brush that gives a deep pore-cleansing action, leaving skin radiant and refined. It effectively exfoliates the skin’s surface to eliminate excess oil, dead skin cells, dirt and impurities, whilst improving the absorption of moisturising and skincare products.

It has a soft brush that is gentle to skin. To put it technically: “the innovative, double award-winning Vibra-Sonic™ technology combines energising sonic oscillations and electromagnetic pulsed vibrations to boost micro-circulation and tone skin for a plump appearance and healthy-looking glow” It is completely waterproof, the brush features an on/off button, wireless USB charger and has a Pulselift™ Toning Mode.

I have used it once but there is already a visible difference. My skin looks very clean and glowing. I have the pastel orange one and I love the colour. It’s such a joy to use. The vibrations feels relaxing on the face and it really cleans and boosts micro-circualtion. The new, unique PulseLift™ mode aids toning for the face too. You don’t have to worry about over doing it, it beeps to prompt you to move on to a new area of your face. Smart, right?

You use the Magnitone brush with your cleanser and a splash of water. It is suitable for any skin types and it is light to hold. So far I love it.

Today I am grateful for magazines. I love reading magazines and I subscribe to many. They are one of the small pleasures in life. Some people have been rude about my love of magazines, I have been told to read books instead (I do read books, thanks. It is possible to read both). In fact, once while I was in a queue to buy a magazine the man in front of me turned and sneered at my choose of purchase and said, ‘You should go and buy a book love’. Seriously, what a tosser. All of those people who told me I was wasting my time reading magazines were wrong because now I am a freelance writer and publisher. I have been in some of those magazines I idolised in my youth. Below is an old picture of Glamour. I have read Glamour from the very first issue and I love it. It is such a great, empowering magazine. What magazines do you love?

Have you ever heard a baby get the giggles? If not then you haven’t lived. My son gets the giggles quite a lot. Occasionally he will even wake himself up giggling. It melts my heart. Sometimes we go to restaurants and my son will be laughing and the other diners will be looking around, wondering what the noise is. Most people have babies who cry in restaurants, our baby likes to laugh. So today I am grateful for my son’s laughter, and how happy it makes not only my husband and I, but other people. We don’t put identifying pictures of our son on social media, but here is one of him in his reindeer outfit crawling. I hope it gives you a moment of cute.

J.D. Robb Brotherhood in Death Book Review

J.D. Robb Brotherhood in Death Book Review

J.D Robb (AKA Nora Roberts) does it again. This is a riveting and well written book. It is almost impossible to put it down. A superb, entertaining thriller. Get your hands on a copy now.

The new novel featuring homicide detective Eve Dallas from the #1 New York Timesbestselling author of Devoted in Death.

Sometimes brotherhood can be another word for conspiracy. . . .

Dennis Mira just had two unpleasant surprises. First he learned that his cousin Edward was secretly meeting with a real estate agent about their late grandfather’s magnificent West Village brownstone, despite the promise they both made to keep it in the family. Then, when he went to the house to confront Edward about it, he got a blunt object to the back of the head.

Luckily Dennis is married to Charlotte Mira, the NYPSD’s top profiler and a good friend of Lieutenant Eve Dallas. When the two arrive on the scene, he explains that the last thing he saw was Edward in a chair, bruised and bloody. When he came to, his cousin was gone. With the mess cleaned up and the security disks removed, there’s nothing left behind but a few traces for forensics to analyze.

As a former lawyer, judge, and senator, Edward Mira mingled with the elite and crossed paths with criminals, making enemies on a regular basis. Like so many politicians, he also made some very close friends behind closed—and locked—doors. But a badge and a billionaire husband can get you into places others can’t go, and Eve intends to shine some light on the dirty deals and dark motives behind the disappearance of a powerful man, the family discord over a multimillion-dollar piece of real estate . . . and a new case that no one saw coming.

Brotherhood in Death is available here.

Today I am grateful for the small pleasures in life. One of my small pleasures is coca cola in a glass bottle. There is just something about coke in a glass bottle that makes it more enjoyable and taste better. It also looks cool and retro. It is more expensive than ordinary cola but there is just something about it and if you can buy yourself a little bit of joy, then it is completely worth it. It is one of my favourite things and I love how satisfying it is when you take the lid off with a bottle opener. It is a rare, but much appreciated treat.

Today I am grateful for cats. I love the furry little creatures. I have had four cats in my life. Rusty, Gizmo and Beauty have all sadly died but Trigger is still alive. He lives with my parents as he is the family cat and he recently met my son. My son had never seen a cat before and loved Trigger and stroked him. My husband also had an amazing cat called Natasha who died recently. We hope to get another cat soon so Luke can have the gift of growing up with a pet. We had Rusty for fourteen and a half years and we still remember her and how amazing she was to this day. Here is to cats. They are the best.

Today I am grateful for books. I have loved reading all my life. There are very few pleasures in life as great as reading a good book. My love of reading has also given me a career that I love, and broadened my view of the world. Reading is great for the imagination and it makes you smarter. Some of these books are written by Frost contributing editor Margaret Graham and some others were written by me. Margaret is a bestselling author for Random House so she is on another level. I hope I get there one day.
