World’s First Breath Test Fertility Tracker Launches To Increase UK Pregnancy Rates

New breath tests will be launching today, that can help to increase pregnancy rates with the world’s first fertility tracker breathe ilo, that uses breath analysis (CO2) to identify ovulation patterns.

With a study revealing that only 12.7% of women correctly estimate their ovulation day¹, breathe ilo is the easiest and most comfortable way to naturally track cycles with a small handheld device that is synced to an app. The technology reads the breath’s CO2 saturation to determine where a woman is in her cycle with incredible accuracy. The device uses real-time ovulation and historic symptom data to offer women precise day-to-day insights into their fertility forecast.

The new technology signals a shift so women no longer need to track their cycles by urinating on a stick or by measuring their temperature early in the morning. The innovative device works by simply breathing and displays the results in just 60 seconds, with no consumables or maintenance needed. Through consistent daily use, the breath analysis tracker empowers women to understand their body and cycle phases better.

The breathe ilo app, which is compatible with iOS and Android, features a calendar that displays a clear overview of fertile days and a cycle diary to learn more about individual cycle patterns. breathe ilo’s cycle diary also offers the possibility to document further cycle symptoms like breast tenderness, PMS, cervical mucus, or headaches to help prepare women for their next cycle.

Lisa Krapinger, breathe ilo’s spokesperson, says, “We believe that fertility and cycle tracking should not be a tiresome task. breathe ilo is designed to bring fertility tracking into the 21st century and the precise and uncomplicated nature of the device is the future of female health by using their breath.”

“Our mission is to not only make fertility tracking as easy as breathing, but we have a wider ambition to create a comfortable space where women can speak freely about trying to conceive and their menstrual cycles, along with all that is in between. With 640,370 women in England & Wales giving birth in 2019², we hope to make it easier and less stressful for those trying to conceive moving forward.”

Pia Haas’s story

After two years of trying for a baby, Pia Haas, 32, decided to take a chance on a new piece of tech to increase her likelihood of getting pregnant.

As part of a field study for the femtech start-up, Pia agreed to test out the device which claimed to be able to tell her when exactly it’s the right time to try conceive just by simply breathing. Three months later, Pia was stunned and delighted to find out that she was pregnant and became the first woman to give birth to a baby thanks to breathe ilo.

Pia, whose son Felix is now 10 months, says of her experience using the breathe ilo: “With breathe ilo my biggest wish came true. I think it is the easiest way of tracking your fertile days. It was less stress than peeing on sticks or measuring temperature. We are planning to use breathe ilo again in the near future to get a sibling for Felix.”

Dr Horst Ruther’s story

  • Please can you share your own experience with trying to conceive and the difficulties you and your wife faced?

My wife and I’s wish to have a child was unsatisfied after more than 5 years of trying. The journey to parenthood was tough because it caused private pressure within our relationship as a couple, but over the years also external pressure from friends and family. The available methods to detect the most fertile days were not very user friendly or easy to use, and also quite unprecise. We even underwent some clinical treatment which only made us more frustrated and increased the pressure further. After several years,  Edith and I decided to go down the adoption route and were very grateful to be able to adopt our son Benjamin. To our surprise shortly after adopting Benjamin, Edith became pregnant and our son Bastian was born only 10 months after his brother Benjamin.

  • How did the idea behind breathe ilo manifest?

After having gone through a tough journey to become a father, I was super excited to learn about the research Prof. Wildt had done in the area of breath analysis to detect fertile days of women – particularly the great advantages of the method because it was much easier and more pleasant than any other method available. So I organised a meeting with Prof. Wildt and immediately knew that we were going to bring the innovation to the broad majority. While Prof. Wildt did show promising research results in the correlation of CO2 in breath and the female cycle with professional respiratory analysers at the clinic, he lacked the knowledge how to build an affordable respiratory analyser for women at home. But with my engineering background and 30 years’ experience leading successful development projects for blood gas analysers for diagnostic companies like Roche Diagnostics, we were able to collaborate to bring breathe ilo to life.

With the option to buy a device for £259.00 or rent for £29.90 a month, breathe ilo is available to purchase exclusively now at  www.breatheilo.com from September 16, 2020.

Bio Oil Review

biooil

Bio Oil is hugely popular amongst pregnant women, new mothers and people with scars to the point that it is ubiquitous. But does it really work? We tried it to find out.

Our tester put it on an existing stretch mark twice a day as instructed. She did notice a visible improvement after a few months. The stretch mark was very purple when she started and it was fading more as time went on. Of course stretchmarks tend to fade anyway but it take years for them to go from the red/purple angry scars to the silvery/white tiger stripes. Bio Oil does speed the process along. Boots.com frequently do a buy two get one three deal so you can also save yourself some pennies.

Have you used Bio Oil? Did it work for you? Would you recommend it to a friend?

Secret Saviours Review: Does It Prevent Stretchmarks? UPDATED

Secret Saviours range reviewThere are a lot of horrible things that come with pregnancy: nausea, sickness, rib pain, exhaustion, but most of these are not permanent. Unlike stretchmarks. These horrible little things take ages to fade and become silvery lines. You can get them for a few reasons and men get them too. To start off our new parenting section we started to review stretch mark products. We decided to review Secret Saviours after attending the launch at 34. Secret Saviours comprises of a Multitasking Support Band, which is used with a specially formulated Day Gel and Night Cream. Does it prevent stretchmarks? Let’s find out.

I start using Secret Saviours when I was 24 weeks pregnant. Everyday I apply the day cream, wear the band and then take if off and apply the night cream in the evening. It’s a bit of a fuss, let’s be honest. But if it stops stretchmarks then it is completely worth it. The band does not fit well to begin with. I measure my bump and I am a size small and the band is a large. It is not uncomfortable but ruins the silhouette of a lot of the clothes that I wear. The pattern is visible under most clothes, making me look like I have a spotty belly. As I said, it is quite cumbersome but if it works it will be worth it.

I am now 32 weeks pregnant and happy with the results so far. I have noticed two stretchmarks a couple of inches below my belly button. I was very annoyed and upset when I saw them but I don’t even think they would be visible if I was wearing bikini bottoms. Still annoying though. So apart from a few stretchmarks which are not very visible, so far so good. I can’t say the system completely works as I have obviously gotten a few stretchmarks but it is possible that it could have been a lot worse. I will update this post as I go along.

The band is not uncomfortable and can also work as a pregnancy band/belt. It is quite sticky when you take it off at night because the day cream you use is tacky to help the pads stick. There are times when I just want to put my clothes on and not bother with the whole thing but so far I feel the results have been more than worth the effort. I will update after the pregnancy to let you know the final results.

You can get the premium Secret Saviours pack here.

Update.

I now have my baby, a son called Luke. Did diligently using the pregnancy band and creams work? I believe they made a difference. I did not come out of the experience with no stretchmarks. Small person + big baby is a recipe for lots of stretching, but the stretchmarks came late in the pregnancy. It is a bit annoying wearing the band everyday, but I actually think it helped my back. I think many people will get different results from Secret Saviours, even the makers said at the press launch that some women will get stretchmarks no matter what, but for most I think Secret Saviours pregnancy band and creams will make a difference.

British medics have designed a unique product which is scientifically proven to help prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.

The Secret Saviours Multitasking Support Band, which is used with a specially formulated Day Gel and Night Cream, reduces the risk of getting Striae gravidarum — the medical name for these unsightly scars – by 70 per cent.

Seven out of ten women who use this innovative under bump and lower back support will be spared these angry red marks which eventually fade to silvery pink, but stubbornly refuse to go away.

And if stretch marks do occur, the severity of them is reduced dramatically, a study presented at the American Academy of Dermatology has confirmed.

RIPPING YARNS: STRETCH MARKS – THE FACTS

Stretch marks are scars left by tearing below the surface of the skin and once you have them, without resorting to a tummy tuck, you have them for life.

TV doctor and GP Dr Chris Steele notes: “Stretch marks are very common in pregnancy, with some studies suggesting as many as nine out of ten mothers-to-be develop these unsightly streaks, but they can also spring from teenage growth spurts and rapid weight gain.

“It’s impossible to predict who will get them, although multiple pregnancies, ethnicity and family history all increase the odds of getting Striae gravidarum,, as doctors call them. And while many mums-to-be massage in moisturisers and oils in the hope of heading them off, there is very little evidence most potions and lotions will make any difference.,”

A BRITISH DISCOVERY
Secret Saviours was invented by leading vascular surgeon Mr Stephen Barker and an expert in tissue engineering at University College, London. It is the first product of its kind with clear scientific proof of effectiveness.

A trial, at the Institute of Maternity and Gynaecology at Tucuman in Argentina, recruited 159 women who were between 12 and 14 weeks pregnant. Half used the Secret Saviours system and the other half did not use any creams or devices to provide a control group for comparison.

Independent clinicians who saw the women at the end of their first trimester and around their due date assessed any stretch marks using a scale of zero to ten, with zero being no marks and ten being multiple, highly visible scars.

In line with studies examining the incidence of stretch marks, 66 per cent of women in the control group developed Striae gravidarum, with most scoring a seven for severity. But two out of three women who used Secret Saviours had no sign of stretch marks and those which did were very minor in appearance, with most scoring just four.

Commenting on Secret Saviours, mum of two and women’s health expert, Dr Catherine Hood, notes: “The secret of the Secret Saviours system is its Multitasking Support Band lined with pads arranged in a random pattern which gently grip the stomach and literally redirect stretch marks.”

“Secret Saviours works by equalising pressure points within the skin and helping to prevent any tiny tissue tears from forming within the dermis, the inner layer of skin which contains blood and lymph vessels.

“But if they do, the Support Band provides a gentle barrier of bumps which block the path of any minor tears which could spread along straight lines of stress and turn into full blown stretch marks.”

Dr Catherine Hood adds: “The skin-saving support provided by the Multitasking Support Band is enhanced by the addition of Secret Saviours’ Day Gel and Secret Saviours Night Cream. Both are formulated using ingredients such as Centella asiatica and vitamin E, which have been shown to support skin healing.

“There are no parabens, PABA, animal ingredients, synthetic colours, mineral oils petroleum or paraffin in either the Day Gel or Night Cream.”

Vascular surgeon Mr Barker promises: “We cannot guarantee Secret Saviours will stop all stretch marks, but we can guarantee that it will significantly reduce the risk of developing them and minimise the appearance of any which do appear.”

As an added bonus, the Secret Saviours Multitasking Support Band also provides some welcome under-bump support, which has the added bonus of reducing lower back ache — a common problem in pregnancy.

Remescar is an easy to use silicone stick designed for scar care. Remescar releases a transparent, thin and silicone base film which creates an ideal healing protective barrier. This helps to maintain the skin’s moisture balance, while aiding the healing of scar tissues resulting from surgery, burns, injuries, acne and stretch marks.

Use Remescar to reduce a scar’s length and height, to soften and flatten the scar tissues, to restore the skin to a more normal colour and texture and to relieve burning, tingling and itching sensations.

Remescar combines the best of both the medical and cosmetic worlds.

The easy to use silicone stick leaves behind an invisible, transparent thin film which creates an optimal protective barrier for the scar to heal and helps to maintain the skin’s moisture balance.

The patented composition of Remescar is based on 3 ingredients that are clinically proven to have a beneficial effect on scars:

The silicone film shield hydrates, protects and restores the upper layer of the skin and stimulates collagen production. It increases the scar elasticity and reduces the redness and itching.
β-glucan has strong calming, protective, and hydrating properties. Besides these properties, it’s an excellent film former. The combination of β-glucan with polymeric film formers such as PVP (Polyvinyl pyrrolidone) and PVA (Polyvinyl alcohol) help to accelerate the wound healing process.
Besides the film formation, which is the first and most important action of Remescar, it also contains strong UV filters. It is widely known that scars need to be protected from UV radiation. That is why Remescar incorporates powerful UV-A and UV-B filters.

Luster Pro Light Review: UK’s First Complete DIY Teeth Whitening System

Out of all of the things you can do to look younger, whitening your teeth is one of the most important. It takes years off you. Teeth whitening can be expensive though, and scary. I have heard stories in the past of people burning away their gums. Thankfully these are now a thing of the past. The UK’s First Complete DIY Teeth Whitening System, Luster Pro Light has been released. Let’s find out if it works.

luster Pro Light Review

It uses the same paint-on whitening gel and Dual-Action ‘blue light’ technology that is used by dentists. Luster Pro Light does work and it also did not upset my sensitive teeth. It is clinically proven to be safe and effective which I was glad to read before I used it. I am always very cautious before I use anything. It can be a little bit of a pain pretreating with whitening solution, brushing and then applying the dual-action whitening. The ready-to-use trays which you put in your mouth are not exactly comfortable but this is all small fry and a minimal amount of effort that you can do in the comfort of your own home.

The treatment really does work. You can even use the rapid schedule and get results in 30 minutes. I will definitely use this again for top ups. Already a best-seller and close to becoming the No. 1 teeth whitening system in America where it first went on sale, this is good stuff indeed.

Remescar Review: Does It Get Rid of Stretchmarks?

remescarstretchmarksreviewApparently a huge number of men are suffering from stretch marks as they try to get buff Hollywood bodies in the gym.

30% of customers buying anti-stretch mark products are now male and experts say demand is being driven by men in their mid-30’s ‘pumping iron’ causing their muscles to grow too rapidly for their skin. There has been a growing trend in men – inspired by the likes of Hollywood actors such as Hugh Jackman – to look more masculine and beefy by pumping iron, with fitness magazines advocating ‘quick bulk up’ workouts to get speedy results.

The most susceptible area for men to get stretch marks when they work out is under the arms, where their upper chest and front shoulder muscles connect, due to  the fact that these areas tend to expand more in proportion to the rest of the body. The more pumped up the muscles become, the more the skin stretches.

We were sent some Remescar Silicone Stretch Marks Cream. to review. It is an affordable, non –invasive and clinically proven treatment that has a noticeable effect on scar reduction, most notably a 50% reduction in stretch marks by the people who used it clinical trials. So did it work? Let’s find out from our writer.

“I used this as suggested on the pack. Twice a day. I have to say that it does fade them. I have been using for about a month and there is definitely a difference. It says on the pack that you should use it for 2-3 months but I have already noticed a difference. I like it. I think it is great stuff. I will buy more when it runs out.”

So there you so. Stamp of approval from our (male) writer. Remescar also works on women.

£24.95 for silicone scar cream (100ml)

Remescar Silicone Stretch Marks Cream is available here and Boots stores nationwide and Boots.com.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum Review

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum ReviewIn the years I have been a lifestyle writer I have rarely come across something that actually changes the texture of my skin, and rarer still to see a visible difference in just two days. Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Serum is this wonder product. My skin had been going through a rough patch when I started using it. I had had a breakout, was ill, red and blotchy. The night after I noticed a difference in my skin, by day two I was amazed at the difference, I have been using this for a few weeks now and there is a difference in the texture of my skin. My pores look like their are 16-years-old and my spots have completely cleared up, the line that was developing has been stopped in its tracks. I have sensitive skin and cannot normally use products that promise anti-aging or smaller pores but this serum did not irritate my skin.

Yau’s Black Bean Sauce and Zumba Dipping Sauce

These Asian sauces are super tasty and not a bit artificial. They taste authentic and wholesome. Like they have been homemade. We tried the black bean sauce and the zumba dipping sauce – both great.

Bonnie and Philip Yau have a background in food from childhood, spanning from Vietnam to Shropshire and now to Peterborough. It has always focused on oriental food and the very best of this. They feel that oriental food is lacking the profile of other ethnic foods, perhaps based on poor takeaway experiences and the association with the monosodium glutamate and what this brings with it – the ‘Chinese gloopiness’! Their range of fresh, zingy, healthy sauces with only the good bits, are set to challenge this perception of their native food – they hope that it means that they can share their passion with their customers. They have developed a launch range that includes some recognised names such as sweet & sour and black bean, mixed in with more unique recipes – Zum marinade, dip and dressing was originally developed by Bonnie’s grandmother in Vietnam. All sauces have no MSG (monosodium glutamate) and are gluten free.

Restaurant, retail, cooking courses and now sauces

Bonnie’s interest in food started in Vietnam when she was growing up – she steered the boat whilst her grandmother sold hot meals to locals. The smells and sights that were part of every trip along the river have stayed with Bonnie – fresh ingredients and simple cooking methods were key to this style of cooking. In the UK Bonnie spent time working in a family-run specialist food shop developing her knowledge of Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai cooking. Philip began life in the food-haven of Shropshire; his parents ran a Chinese restaurant in the now well-known Ludlow. Their shared interest in food led them to setting-up a specialist oriental store in Peterborough and also a takeaway restaurant. Their approach to quality food, fresh ingredients and excellent customer service has been carried across their businesses. The idea for the sauces came from repeated customer requests – from both chefs and consumers, for oriental sauces that were authentic and easy to cook with – supported by ways to cook with them, for the oriental amateur. Bonnie has taken this education into people’s homes with her interactive and fun cooking and learning courses.shopping

Cook, marinade, dip and dress

The launch range of sauces has been developed by Bonnie and Philip – they started their production in the kitchen and sold through their specialist store, Janson Hong. Due to the positive reaction and interest in the products, they have taken the business forward and sourced a British manufacturer who is working closely with them to produce the recipes exactly to Bonnie’s taste but at the same time enabling them to extend production beyond the scale of their home kitchen. The sauces are made by Eastern Country Foods in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. There are six sauces with some recognised names such as the Black Bean and the Sweet & Sour and then some more unusual names; Kung Po and Zum. Yau’s recognise the lack of understanding of oriental food and part of their launch is about recipes and re-education into just how tasty, healthy and easy oriental cooking can be for the whole family. The sauces are also a solution for caterers seeking authentic flavours for restaurant dishes.

Bonnie Yau explained why they had created Yau’s; “We love the food from China, Vietnam, Thailand and feel that in the UK Indian and Thai food is widely accepted as part of the cuisine but food termed ‘Chinese’ food has a bad image. Our aim has been to develop sauces that we would use in our home cooking, so that we can share our food. We think that there is a gap on the shelves of retailers for an artisan product in this sector and hope that we can fill it. We also believe that our product will help in restaurant kitchens – the feedback so far in our region, is very positive. We hope to spread this across the country.”

Verdesse

Our writer used these for less than a month and made no other changes. He was less bloated and lost four pounds. Impressive. From Nature’s Best.

verdesse-IMG348W

Expert nutritionist Dr Sam Christie comments “We know that coffee drinkers are protected against type 2 diabetes – a condition characterised by blood-sugar irregularities that leads to excessive abdominal fat accumulation. Now, even non-coffee drinkers can benefit. Scientists now understand that what we eat has an enormous influence on whether or not we succumb to this type of disease. Green coffee that provides more of the sugar-normalising compounds (but without the caffeine) is a natural approach to a flatter stomach and part of your protection against this type of condition”.

Nature’s Best Verdesse contains a high dose of 400mg green coffee extract – the trial used a high dose of 500mg. Verdesse™ (£14.95 for 60 tablets from www.naturesbest.co.uk or call 01892 552 094) is a decaffeinated green coffee extract containing ‘5-caffeolyquinic acid’, proven to help you lose weight by speeding up your metabolism. Take every day for an additional metabolic boost.

Verdesse™ is a slimming supplement used to speed up the metabolism and help you lose weight faster. Verdesse™ is a decaffeinated green coffee extract with Svetol™ which contains high levels of active compounds called ‘chlorogenic acids’. One in particular which is called ‘5-caffeoylquinic acid’ is scientifically proven to help you simultaneously lose weight by speeding up your metabolism. These compounds contain powerful antioxidants that help fight free radical damage. The roasting process changes the chemical profile of the coffee bean and this is why unroasted coffee beans are used in Verdesse™. Although you could get as much ‘5-caffeoylquinic acid’ from 3 cups of green coffee, it is quite an acquired taste, taking Verdesse is an easy way to get this into your diet.

Deep Relief

deepreliefGreat stuff that really works. I am addicted to it. Available from Boots.

A grim portrait of pain has been revealed by a new study for Deep Relief, a topical, clinically proven analgesic gel which uses both analgesic ibuprofen and counter-stimulant levomenthol to deliver a dual attack on pain to provide, effective pain relief.

In this survey of 1000 adults, almost half (43%) said they were blighted by pain on a daily basis. A similar proportion (45%) reported living with pain for more than five years. The back is the number one sore spot with more than half of pain sufferers reporting the lower back to be the main source of discomfort. The neck and shoulders come a close second affecting two out of five (42%) people.

Commenting on this latest pain data, Dr Sarah Brewer a media GP notes: “Worryingly, this new Deep Relief report revealed that three out of five (60%) who suffer regular aches and pains put their health at risk because they rely on oral pain-relief pills. Long term use of oral painkillers such as aspirin and ibuprofen has been linked with a corrosive effect on the digestive system and long term use of ibuprofen and diclofenac at high doses have been linked to an increased risk of heart attack. It is estimated that this family of medicines, known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs, is responsible for 2,600 deaths a year and 12,000 hospital admissions out of 25 million prescriptions not to mention the number of people that buy NSAIDs Over The Counter.”

GRIN AND BEAR

A staggering one in two people (48%) simply ‘grin and bear pain’. Standing for long periods (41%), household chores (40%) and sitting at a desk for long periods (33%) all aggravate discomfort and a third (32%) report that cold weather makes their pain worse.

Nagging pain can also have a huge emotional impact, with a third (29%) admitting they get upset because it restricts their activities and the same number complaining they are constantly exhausted.

“This can become a vicious cycle as there is evidence to show that low mood lowers our pain threshold and depression increases our sensitivity to pain, which makes it feel worse.” Dr Sarah Brewer

Dr Brewer adds: “The survey found that pain also prevented one in four respondents from exercising, which may exacerbate this downward spiral. In fact, we know that exercise releases mood-boosting endorphins, so remaining as active as possible is an important part of pain control in long-term conditions such as arthritis.”

Using an effective topical pain relief product such as Deep Relief gel can help maintain mobility and prevent pain from undermining the ability to enjoy daily life.

In summary, Dr Brewer notes: “This survey also found that two out of five (38%) people had not discussed their pain problems with their GP or a pharmacist and as a result many may be unaware of the risks associated with oral painkillers, and the potential for interactions with other medicines such as blood-thinning drugs. A number of studies have linked the long-term use of NSAIDs to serious side-effects and these medicines must be treated with respect. Sadly, almost one third (31%) of respondents in the Deep Relief survey believed there is nothing they can do to prevent pain.

Overall this survey paints a grim picture of debilitating pain in a significant proportion of the UK population together with a worrying lack of knowledge on how to treat it.”

However, the good news is that Deep Relief is a topical analgesic gel which uses two weapons to help fight pain – analgesic ibuprofen and counter-irritant levomenthol — to deliver a dual attack on pain which has been clinically proven to provide, effective relief.

The ibuprofen reduces pain by damping down inflammation and swelling while the levomenthol provides a counter-irritant effect which delivers cooling pain relief.

“And the synergistic action of these two key ingredients enhances penetration of the ibuprofen suggesting that Deep Relief may deliver more analgesia than products containing ibuprofen alone.

Deep Relief has been subjected to a randomised, double-blind placebo controlled trial — the toughest scientific test there is — and is proven to significantly reduce pain in walking, standing and at rest.

So if you suffer from muscular mild to moderate pain niggles opt for a topical pain relieving gel like Deep Relief gel. However, if the pain becomes severe or worsens, always seek GP advice immediately.

LEVOMENTHOL NO LONGER A MYSTERY

Menthol has been used to relieve aches and pains for centuries but it is only recently that scientists have begun to understand how it works.

Messages to the brain are relayed via a system of transient receptor potential (TRP) ion channels which act as gateways on cells and allow electrical signals to pass back and forth.

A 2007 study at the University of California confirmed that one of these TRP ion channels — known as TRPM8 — is not only essential to signal the sensation of cold, but also responds to menthol. This means at a cellular level these chemical messengers cannot tell the difference between something which is physically cold and the menthol-induced sensation of cold — so applying menthol activates the same pain-relieving response as an ice-pack and triggers a barrage of ‘it’s cold’ signals to the brain which compete with pain signals and dilute their message.

Another piece of the puzzle emerged last year in a study from researchers at the Research Center for Neurobiology and Neurophysiology at Aix-Marseilles University who suspected that menthol’s pain relieving properties went beyond this counter-irritant distraction.

Their laboratory tests confirmed that menthol also blocks at least three of the ion channels which relay the sensation of pain and they reported: “We found that low concentrations of menthol cause analgesia.”[8]

This shows that menthol works in two ways: by both blocking pain signals and by diluting the impact of those which get through to the brain.

Another advantage of adding menthol to a pain-relieving gel is that it aids the penetration of ibuprofen. In vitro studies show that when levomenthol — the type of menthol used in Deep Relief — is added to ibuprofen 2.6 times more analgesic is absorbed by the skin in the first hour and at ten hours the combination of ibuprofen and levomenthol delivers 1.4 times more analgesia than ibuprofen alone.

Deep Relief is the only topical NSAID to combine ibuprofen and levomenthol to provide this two-pronged approach to pain-relief.
