Actress Joanna Lumley and former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt are calling on people buying Easter gifts to save bunnies by only buying beauty and personal care gifts that have not been tested on animals. There is a huge choice of cruelty-free Easter gifts on offer this year for both men and women. These can be easily identified by the Leaping Bunny Logo which symbolises the BUAV’s Humane Cosmetics Standard, the internationally recognised gold standard, which guarantees a company does not test their cosmetics and toiletries on animals.
Joanna Lumley said, “I’m helping rabbits this Easter by only buying cruelty-free cosmetics. Look out for the BUAV’s Leaping Bunny logo.”
Kimberly Wyatt, founder of new cruelty-free cosmetics brand BM Beauty said, “Please be kind to bunnies this Easter – don’t buy animal tested cosmetics and toiletries when choosing gifts for your loved ones. Look out for the BUAV’s Leaping Bunny logo.”
Toiletries and cosmetics companies approved by BUAV that don’t test their products on animals include own-brand products from high street giants Marks & Spencer, The Co-op, Superdrug, Sainsbury’s, Dermalogica, BM Beauty, Neal’s Yard, Melvita and Bulldog male grooming products. For a full list of BUAV approved companies or to order your Little Book of Cruelty Free, please visit www.gocrueltyfree.org.
Despite bans in the UK and EU that prevent animals from being used to test cosmetics and toiletries, products that have been cruelly tested on animals in other parts of the world are still allowed to be sold. The BUAV is campaigning for a ban that will prevent this from happening.
Please have a heart for bunnies this Easter and look for the BUAV’s Leaping Bunny Logo when choosing your Easter gifts. If you would like to stop animal testing for all cosmetics on sale in the EU, please sign the BUAV’s petition at www.nocruelcosmetics.org.
