This Sauvignon Blanc has got to be one of the sexiest wines I have ever tried. Deliciously crisp and energetic, this Pouilly-Fumé has flavours of green apples, stone fruits and lemons. This fantastic little number will go well with seafood, Italian food and poultry.

Since Perrier-Jouët was founded on the love story of Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and his wife Adele Jouët, the Perrier-Jouët Small Discoveries Blason Rosé coffret is a Valentine’s collection with romance and surprise at its very core.

 

It includes:

 

·         Two champagne flutes which reveal a dazzling secret: When filled, their beautiful butterfly engravings cause bubbles to cluster and spiral upwards through the length of the wine

·         A bottle of Blason Rosé – the first rosé champagne created by Perrier-Jouët

Perrier- Jouët Small Discoveries Blason Rosé coffret is the third release from the ‘Small Discoveries’ collection – a longstanding collaboration between Perrier-Jouët and award-winning Viennese design duo mischer’traxler. Small Discoveries celebrates Perrier-Jouët’s philosophy of fine craftsmanship and use of nature. 

Mischer’traxler has taken inspiration for ‘Small Discoveries’ from the core principles and rich variety of expression associated with the Art Nouveau movement: combining art with craftsmanship, and infusing nature and beauty into everyday objects; the proponents of which remain at the heart of Perrier-Jouët’s House philosophy. References to nature and the use of handcraft processes, two characteristics so vital to the artistic movement, have been utilised by the laser engraving of two butterflies on the inside of the flutes which, when the glass is filled bubbles flutter to the top.

Blason Rosé is the first rosé champagne created by Perrier-Jouët. It’s name derives from the ‘Blason de France’ range, created by the House in 1956. Blason Rosé is a subtle blend of 50 different ‘vins clairs’ from the best parcels of the House’s vineyards.  Built upon the great love of Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and his wife Adele Jouët who together established the Champagne House Perrier-Jouët in 1811, Perrier-Jouët’s Blason Rosé carries their legacy of love in every bottle.

Described as the house’s most gourmet wine, it is a fresh salmon pink in colour with an intense and lively palate which has great length and character. The finish is complex and persistent.

Shiraz Rosé Jacob’s Creek Wine Review

wine, wine review, roséI have to point out that I am partial to a Rosé. In fact, it is one of my favourite types of wine. That does not mean that all Rosé is equal however. This Shiraz Rosé from Jacob’s Creek is the official wine of Wimbledon. It is fresh, fruity and well balanced. It goes well with strawberries and cream of course, otherwise it would have no place at Wimbledon. This is a crisp wine with characters of fresh berry fruit. It has a finish of tempered spice and quince. This is a perfect summer rosé you can’t go wrong with. It is dark in colour which usually means the rosé is very sweet but this is not the case here. Great taste and well balanced.

Taittinger Brut Réserve NV & Taittinger Prestige Rosé NV Champagne reviewChampagne Taittinger Brut Réserve NV is one of the best bottles of champagne on the market. Made with fruit from only the prime vineyards throughout Champagne, this is the signature cuvée of Champagne Taittinger. A blend of Chardonnay wines (40%) and Pinot wines (60%) from 30 to 50 different vineyards and matured to perfection. Elegant and delicately golden with sweet biscuit and brioche notes, this Champagne has peach and acacia notes on the nose. It is beautiful and well-balanced. It is aged for three to four years in the cellars. Crisp and perfectly matured.
This champagne can be drunk as an aperitif or with food. Enjoy with white meat, canapés, oysters or smoked salmon.

Champagne Taittinger Prestige Rosé NV was always going to get a good review as we love rosé at Frost. Throw in the fact that this is champagne and win-win. This is a gorgeous, delicate wine that has aromas of wild strawberries and spice. Flavours of crushed raspberry, cherry and blackcurrant. This is a delicious, vibrant wine. Highly recommended, just amazing. Enjoy with fruit based desserts, red fruit, delicate sorbet, summer pudding and selected cheeses.

This rose is as interesting as it is delicious. It has fresh red berry and strawberry flavour and a unique and wonderful touch of spice greatly enhances the wine. Yummy.

This is a brilliant light, fresh wine. It is a beautiful crimson red and has a wonderful, but not overpowering, sweetness to it. Has aromas of ripe strawberry, spices and candy. Goes very well with salmon. Delicious.

This rose is a dark, clear red. Full of dark summer fruit aromas. This raspberry coloured wine also has floral notes. Light and refreshing. Stunning.

A brilliant French wine that encapsulates what the Mediterranean coast would taste like if it was a glass of rosé. Has spices and freshness all in one. Is a blend of syrah and mourvédre. Elegant and wonderful.

This wine was a big hit at a cheese and wine night I had in my apartment. Is a nice salmon colour. Is very fresh and fruity and highly drinkable. Good stuff.

Taste The Difference Côtes de Provence Rosé 2013

 

Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Côtes de Provence Rosé 2013 is a light, elegant and amber-toned rosé. Made from 40% Grenache, 40% Cinsault and 20% Syrah. It is from the Provence region of Southern France.

I am a fan of rosé and this is a good one. It is not too sweet and has delicate flavours of strawberry and cherry. It is light, dry and crisp. A perfect rosé for summer. Recommended.
