Macadamia Professional Launch

I attended the launch of a very exciting hair range recently. Macadamia are known for their hair oils and now they have created a fantastic new collection of professional products for salons and home use. I was mesmerised at the performance of the entire range.

They are for sale on their website so don’t worry if your salon isn’t stocking just yet, and if you are a salon wanting these just hit THIS LINK and you can introduce the entire range for your customers to go crazy over. It won’t be long before this range pops up in salon near you as this range is quite frankly superb. I have had a drastic cut recently and these are helping restore my hairs lustre, bounce and body. One of the main reasons I cut it off was it had become dry from using hotel shampoos and conditioners while traveling recently. Most inferoiur products contain Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES for short) and these strip the hair of vital goodness and essential oils. It’s not widely know that this nasty chemical can cause eye or skin irritations. The worst thing about SLES is that its used in experiments done on animals and humans. So if your Vegan you need to check those bottles guys. SLES can also cause irritation after extended exposure with some people. I can see you all dashing off to check bathroom cabinets very soon. You will be amazed at how many of your favourite products contain this substance.

So knowing all of this you would think that I would be more aware of hair heath…NO! I threw caution to the wind and also had a little fling with mega blonde hair. The combination left my once beautiful mane a tad dry and frizzy. Then macadamia pro came into my life! It’s a game changer that’s for sure! Along with being kind to your hair  and free from SLES the new Macadamia range is cruelty and gluten free. Yes you read that right, it doesn’t contain any wheat based or gluten products. With allergies being on the increase its so important to remember that your skin absorbs countless substances throughout the day. The skin is the largest organ we have so it makes sense to protect ourselves from over exposure to unnecessary products. I’m a coeliac suffer and this was music to my ears. Who would have thought a brand could be so forward thinking! Myself and my new cropped hair are extremely happy to say the least.

Take yourself over to their website here to see the entire range! I will be doing individual reviews on all their products over the next few weeks. Make sure you pop back and check them out.

So with that I will cut this short!!! And say bye until next time!

Come and say hi over at twitter too! @Sarahbacchus or check out my blog SLBstyle.com for more fashion, food and fun.

Top Ten eBay Tips

As you all will know I’m a fashion and style loving lass. When I need to save a few pennies for beauty products or a new camera my go to place is eBay. You can literally find a real hidden gem every day of you know how to search properly. Most of my friends call me the eBay Queen.

I will share with you my top ten eBay tips so you too can look stylish on a measly budget. Whether you missed out on that perfect little summer dress that sold out in a flash or just a tasty bargain waiting to be snapped up. These tips will help you look stylish and turn heads. Enable you to be a little individual but most importantly save you a packet!

Top 10 eBay Tips-5 Top 10 eBay Tips-5

1. Get the app on your smart phone. This way you will be able to look for things 24/7 if you so please.
2. Search for specific things or things that pop into your head. Or items you might have missed out on even years gone by. Like “Wit & Wisdom pink dress” I did this for a few months after longing to find one I didn’t purchase 15 years ago and it popped up for £3.50!
3. Be prepared to wait….ref to No2!
4. Haggle and contact sellers to see if they will take items out of auction. You might be surprised how many just want to get rid of unwanted items.
5. Set a budget each month and stick to it.
6. Watch items all the time as your iPhone or smartphone will let you know when they are coming to an end.
7. Refine settings, like price. Type in max price £1.00. Free postage or distance to you.
8. This brings me to the next tip, avoid overseas sellers that use descriptions like “May look different to image due to lighting” as you won’t end up with what you see!
9. This next tip is one my buddy Claire told me…Type in wrongly spelt terms like “Soze 8” as you will be amazed at how many items are listed spelt incorrectly!
10. Have fun with it. But don’t get too carried away!

Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon

Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon1No, not for your favourite tipple, but for a much better treat: when you have skipped on the sand, dipped a toe in the water and chased the seagull that stole your pasty why not … take a stroll up Broad Street to Pug and Puffin. If you are a dog lover, or a dog lover’s friend like me, this is one place that warms the cockles. It is vibrant and imaginative. We‘re talking funky and fun. The doors opened on March 28th, almost a year ago and the shop remains very popular. I don’t own a canine friend, but here is a unique place where dogs can be spoilt and owners stuck for choice. The thoughtful family have placed a water bowl outside too for thirsty pets.
Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon2Martin Luscombe, (Lyme Regis born), Janet his wife, and Jenny their daughter have combined their artistic talents brilliantly. Naturally, all three love dogs and have owned many breeds, shapes and sizes over the years. This became the inspiration for a delightful shop. Noah, their three and a half year old Pug, is of course reflected in the eye catching sign outside.
Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon3What can I say about Noah? Cuddly, cute, good natured and with such a handsome face. He looks quite at home relaxing in a dog basket wearing a trendy bandana. Adorable.
Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon4Lyme Regis is one of those dog friendly, seaside places. The Luscombe’s intention was to reflect this. Inside, there are so many quirky and unusual gifts. What do you choose for that very special pooch in your life? Martin, a self taught artist and his daughter Jenny are the painters and designers behind the products. Janet is the creative needle woman making doggy bandanas, snazzy bags, purses, and vibrant collars.
Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon5Incredible talent. Oh … and how about a colourful dicky bow for the dog and that very special occasion. The perfect, original present for a friend or a neighbour’s pet. Even your own.
Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon6Apart from a wide selection of accessories peeping out from shelves, or on papier mache models of dogs, (my most coveted items), there are many other best sellers.
Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon7Small wooden signs with ‘Lyme Regis’ emblazoned on them are extremely popular with holiday makers or passersby. There is a superb array of colourful doggy cards, (I love the alphabet ones too), and if you need a clock or a new mug, you won’t be disappointed.
So, if the sun is replaced by a sudden shower, and there is no room for two under the umbrella, why not splash out on a ‘pack-a-mac’ for your four legged friend. Don’t forget to pick up, before leaving, a plaque that says ‘I’D RATHER BE WALKING MY PUG’. (Other breeds available of course).

Meet You At The Pug And Puffin In Lyme Regis By Wendy Breckon8

Enjoy your visit. Stay a while. Pug and Puffin is a charming, friendly shop. A visual delight. You won’t leave empty handed … and your dog will be eternally grateful.

Shopping in Italy by Amanda Brake, our Italian correspondent living in Le Marche

When I’m asked what it’s like shopping in Italy I realized that it’s quite a tricky question  to answer because shopping in Italy isn’t always an easy task. But before you yawn, there is information about this fantastic area that I have to share with you.

Once a month we drive 20 minutes to our nearest Eurospin Supermarket where one can stock up on the basics: beans, sauces and pastes etc. , for 30c to 40c a packet.

However, we still love to visit our local markets and shops to buy fresh produce. It’s not just the food, but the experience. For example our village Force ( for-chay) has local milk from an organic free range farm and also great cheese.

italycheese

Our house is surrounded by sheep who are farmed for their meat, milk and a great variety of cheeses. Many of these are sold locally at the supermarkets or the local village and town markets. Apart from Mondays you can find a local market in any one of the many villages or towns.

italyroad to the butcher.J

Our village butcher is situated on the farm itself, down a small lane. We don’t eat a great deal of meat in our family but when we do we make sure it’s good quality and here we know for sure it is. We also know that the animals have not travelled in distress.

italyfresh local meat

Best of I have to explain to you the lovely free local seasonal produce we get from our neighbouring friends, anything from fresh plump cherries to carrots, peaches to lettuce, plus zucchini’s and many tomatoes, all of course naturally grown.

italyvegetables

So you have to be a little organized but the benefits of this quality of food is worth it. What I look forward to most are the spring vegetable plant markets, so I can get  on with planting my own food too. Life here is simple, but good.

When Björn Borg launches their spring summer 2015 collection, the Sports Fashion brand blows a kiss to the gaming world through presenting their collection not through a commercial, fashion ads or a cookbook, but through an online fashion game experience where their clothes gives the player extra love strength.

Through the game, a new platform for e-commerce is introduced: in-game shopping with the player equipping their avatar with the new Björn Borg collection to fight the forces of evil with the power of love. Equipped with a love glove, you master your enemies with e.g. a hologram kiss blower, a flower petal thrower or rainbow caster made from pink gold, white leather and acrylic glass for the ultimate style experience.

The game has received a great reception with Kotaku, one of the largest gaming sites in the world, calling First Person Lover “one of the most fabulous things I’ve ever seen”.

Fellow Swede Felix ”Pewdiepie” Kjellberg, who runs the largest Youtube account in the world, calls the game “The most fabulous game in the universe” with his play through of the game at receiving over 3 million views so far.

American Youtube sensation Markplier calls it “Game of the Year”.

“We have taken the aesthetics from the First Person Shooter games and turned it upside down. We want to offer gamers and shoppers a whole new experience”, comments Lina Söderqvist, Marketing Director, Björn Borg AB.

“It has been extraordinarily fun to see the collection come to life in 3D and having avatars wearing it. The game has taken my vision of fictional worlds to a whole new level. I might be the first designer ever that has his collection bought through a game”, says James Lee, Head Designer, Björn Borg.

About the SS15 collection

Björn Borg SS15 draws its inspiration from fictional worlds. Mesmerizing mythical islands, lost worlds and visionary computer games. A mainly monochrome collection where sport and fashion are intertwined.

The key prints in the collection are inspired by water, coral structures and ancient temples. These prints are found throughout all product groups. The key material trend for this season is mesh. This runs through inserts, paneling and details across apparel, underwear, bags, footwear and eyewear.

Styling takes its inspiration from scuba wetsuits through using chunky zips, neoprene, thicker seams and mixing together bright colours with black. Important colours in the SS15 collection are black & white and combining these with soft shades of grey, pink, orange and mint.

The Björn Borg SS15 collections of underwear, apparel, footwear and bags is available at select retailers and Björn Borg concept stores.

New Social Shopping Site Launched For New And Expecting Parents

parents, parenting, kids, berry clever, Parents need all the help they can get. Which is why we think BerryClever, a brand new social shopping site for new and expecting parents is great. It aims to make online shopping more fun and interactive by giving parents the power to discover and choose the perfect parenting products by reading and sharing honest advice from the people they can trust the most, their friends. BerryClever has had over 7,000 members joins since it launched 3 months ago.

Online shopping has revolutionised our lives and the range of product choices available to parents for their little ones has never been greater. But with this overwhelming range of choice often comes more questions than answers, especially for first time parents who are under pressure to buy all sorts of baby essentials that they often know nothing about. BerryClever’s research found that an incredible 91% of people surveyed admitted that they had wasted money buying the wrong products for their babies. What’s more 86% of people surveyed wanted their friend’s recommendations when making purchasing decisions. So where do you start when it comes to choosing the right products for your baby? That’s where BerryClever comes in.

BerryClever has created a unique online environment, which allows you to connect with existing friends and new like-minded ones to discover the products they love, regret or simply can’t live without. Kristi Flax and Emma Kafton, who are both mums themselves, recognise that parents in particular prefer recommendations from people they know and trust when it comes to buying products for their babies. Because the reviews on BerryClever are written by friends in your network, you know they have no vested interest in promoting certain products and that they are just sharing their own honest and experienced views. Emma explains that “the idea is to make online shopping for your baby feel intuitive rather than the transactional and anonymous experience you get on many other ecommerce websites. With so much online content being disingenuous, the ability to read information from people you trust is ever more valuable”.

BerryClever’s reviews, known as ‘tips’, are no longer than 150 characters making them quick to write and read on mobile devices and ideal for busy mums on the go. As parents overwhelmingly prefer reviews from people they know, BerryClever’s unique algorithm ranks reviews based on their social profile so they will always be shown the most relevant products reviewed by their friends and the people they are most similar to first.

Users can also upload Pictips – a product photo review, watch recommended videos from the web and create lists of favourite or most wanted products for themselves or to share with others. The ability to explore friends’ lists provides a simple way for experienced parents to help their newly pregnant friends find everything they need for every stage of their birth and child’s development, from weaning and feeding to potty training, playing and learning.

Not only does BerryClever help parents make the important decisions on what to buy, it also quickly and easily links directly through to their Amazon account or the retailer’s website to allow them to make the purchase. There is even a ‘demand a lower price’ feature to help parents, who on average spend £5,000 in the first year of their child’s life alone, save money on expensive items like buggies and car seats. If a lower price can be found, the user will be sent an email within 48 hours confirming an offer which they can choose to either accept or decline, with no hidden small print.

Every feature is intended to make BerryClever a place where shopping can become a fun, social and resourceful experience.

Sign up now and invite your friends to see what they really think of those ‘must-have’ products www.berryclever.com
