Babycham Original Sparkling Perry Review

Babycham Original Sparkling PerryThis retro classic was a hit at Frost from men and women alike. It’s fun and glamorous with a low alcohol content. Which is actually a good thing, as you can have more fun without the consequences. It tastes great: sparkling perry pears are delicious, and comes in a 750ml bottle with a satisfying cork to pop, or mini 200ml bottles. Perfect for Christmas.

Looking for an unashamedly girly Christmas tipple that every generation will love? Babycham, the refreshing sparkling perry will add a touch of sparkle and fun to any Christmas festivity.

Having launched in 1953, Babycham captured the celebratory mood of the post-war era and was the first alcoholic drink to be marketed directly at women. At that time, women were only just allowed into bars and the light, sweet sparkling drink was fun and lively and something that they could call their own. Even the iconic coupe-style glass it was served in felt glamourous and it gave women the chance to experience a champagne-style drink without the expensive price tag.

Since then, Babycham has continued to be a firm favourite of women of all ages and holds a nostalgic place at many a Christmas party or soiree. Still bottled, as it was in the 1950s, with the iconic fawn on the front, Babycham is best served ice cold.

So it’s time to get in the Christmas groove with this retro blast from the past because Babycham, the original girly drink, is ready to party!

Echo Falls Alcohol Free Sparkling Infusion Review

wine, alcohol free, alcohol, free, pregnant, pregnancy, drinks, sparkling, grape, juicePeople, I haven’t had an alcoholic drink since last July. JULY. I have to admit, it has been hard. I don’t actually drink a lot but I review a lot of restaurants, go to events with free bars and we also review a lot of alcohol (Thanks Matt!). I miss the ceremony, the bit of fizz that means celebration. Which means I got quite excited about the prospect of reviewing alcohol-free wine. Send it over I told the PR, hoping that ‘ alcohol-free wine’ was not an oxymoron. And the result….

We loved it. It really does hit the spot. I also noticed that they were handing it out at The Baby Show at Excel last weekend. The sparkling mixture of Tisane, grape juice and premium green tea really does hit the spot. Drink it cold out of a champagne flute and it is actually nicer than a lot of proper, alcoholic wine. It tastes great and is very moreish. Which is fine because it is alcohol free and you can drink as much as you want! Yeah.

Echo Falls Alcohol Free Sparkling Infusion is refreshing and medium dry. It has wonderful crisp fruit flavours and bubbles that last. It also opens the exact way champagne does. Which is very satisfying. I am now addicted. My fridge will soon be filled with this superb drink. Love it.

Jacob’s Creek Sparkling Rosé Cuvee

jacobscreekroseI rarely get sent Rosé to review, which is a shame as it is my favourite type of wine.

The problem with some Rosé is that it is too sweet (although I tend to have a higher tolerance for sweet wine than other people I know) and it tends to knock the balance of the wine off. Luckily Jacob’s Creek Sparkling Rosé Cuvee is not too sweet, it is just the right amount.

It is a refreshing sparkling wine which has a great taste. I reviewed it with someone who is always harsh when reviewing Rosé and even they loved it.

It is a grown up Rosé, one for the sophisticated palate. Not sickening, but a beautiful pink colour, a delicate and fresh berry flavour and chardonnay and pinot noir grapes. Recommended this Christmas and beyond: a very good sparkling wine. Frost Loves….

The Jacob’s Creek Sparkling Rosé is a non-vintage wine made from selected Jacob’s Creek Chardonnay and Jacob’s Creek Pinot Noir grapes displaying delicate fresh berry flavours and an attractive pink colour. It’s the perfect wine for raising a glass when celebrating the arrival of the New Year.

Price: £10.39 (approx) from Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Mark’s & Spencers and Tesco
